On my desk… sketchbook

I have been keeping up with my drawings. Sometimes when I haven’t got a clear idea of something I would like to draw I think back over the day and draw lists of things. It gets the pen moving.

Omdlunch

This is what I ate for lunch yesterday, two bits of that dark German rye bread, a piece of Brie, a cracker, an apple, water, and green tea.

Omdwine

We had wine last night.

Omdseedling

Sunflower seedling.

Omdmushpie

Ha yes, these are the ingredients in Nigel Slater’s mushroom pie from his book Appetite. That book is brilliant. Suits my style of cooking to a T. I made a small version of the pie last night. Here is a picture of last nights mushroom pie.

Omdsketchbook

And here is the desk! Clockwise from the left, Simon’s pen, my polling card for the vote for tomorrow, felt horse, a safety pin, my old bedside lamp, Guinness mug, and my Bamboo. And in the middle, my sketch book.

You can see a list of other Wednesday on-my-deskers here in the sidebar. I am finding it fun! It also reminds me to hurry up and get on with things, I have a big to-do list of creative/making things that need to be done. It can’t all be 24hrs gardening around here you know :D

Hello! Great little blog you have here – I’ve had a fun little nose into your sketchbook :) – I like to draw visual shopping lists too.
You are one of the lucky ones who will be receiving a Pay It Forward package from me! It’s quite funny that out of the three, two are from the US and then you from here in little Oxford!
I couldn’t find an email link on your profile, so if you would like to send me an email (via my blogger profile) with your address that’d be great! x

I really like your sketches. And I have a black Bamboo that I’ve never used….got it mainly for the software in that weird way that the software was cheaper almost when it came with the bamboo.
Tell me what you do with the bamboo pls.

    Hello Maureen,
I sometimes use my Bamboo for drawing but mostly what I find it best for is using it instead of a mouse. It feels much nicer on my hand to be holing a pen rather than the track pad or mouse. I haven’t actually ever used the software as I have Photoshop and iPhoto. Seems like the reverse to you! Maybe I should check out the software?
