I have been practising my knitting because I want to knit a blanket. I have lots of nice wool on the way thanks to very helpful advice from Make Do and Mend (she knits so many lovely things). While waiting for my wool to arrive I have been making these little squares, partly to get back into it but also in the hope that the kitties will get bored of it. See here this is typical:
Eeek :) Sometimes it is the wool and sometimes it is the needles that are so chewable. I was a bit distracted from stopping her as I was trying to watch a movie.
PS. I am keeping my knitting in the bag that came with my new Toms. I love them, very comfortable. They remind me of the shoes my aunt wears to do Tai Chi. I really would like these too but am currently saving for Japan. I keep asking myself things like ‘do you want to buy a bag now or in Japan’, ‘do you want to buy a drink now or in Japan’ etc.

Oh my gosh – I got a pair of TOMS when I was in NYC and I literally live in them now. They are sooooo comfortable and I think that’s partly just because I’m always wearing flats with no support but I’m itching to buy more. The new styles are so cute.. I just wish they had a rainproof version because, living in Seattle, I’ll be forced to stop wearing mine for about 8 months of the year!
What will you be doing in Japan? How exciting, I wish I could go back!!
Yes I will have the same rain problem! You can get waterproofing sprays I think – I might look into it :D
In Japan I will be doing EVERYTHING! So excited :) Well really I will be traveling around, all the way to the south and back again.
ha ha! that is such a great way to commit your self to save – now or in japan? i love the colour of your wool:)
Yes I am seeing it as delayed spending, going to have to bring an empty suitcase and go on a diet in advance :D
Yay – knitting!
I’d like to make a blanket fro my new guest bed but I’m not sure quite what yet. What colours? Crochet or knitting? How big?
I’m going to have to dither for a while until a plan emerges…
Looking forward to seeing your blankie come together. Have you read Attic24? Whenever I think of a big blankie, I think of her blog: http://attic24.typepad.com/
Yay! The wool arrived today – can’t wait to get started :)
