On impulse I stopped at Magdalen College on my way home. The sun was hot but the shadows stretched out to capacity. Conkers thudded to the ground and were pounced upon by happy squirrels. A pheasant and I crossed paths, I don’t know which of us was more startled. Pipe organ music echoed quietly along the stone corridors from its origins of someone practicing in the chapel. The flower borders which had been so fresh and full of promise were now gently and brownly sinking back. This trip although unplanned has bookended the summer as last time I was here it had been the start of spring.

I took deep breath watching your pics. SO beautiful and spiritual.

So gorgeous. I just love the very high contrast in some of these shots. It makes everything so sharp yet so soft at the same time. But I must admit the first thought that ran through my mind upon looking at the first shot was CHRISTMAS! Is this place this empty like that a lot?
Yes I thought it was Christmas-like too! Whenever I go there it seems pretty empty. The students haven’t started just yet so they weren’t there. When I go it is usually about 4:30pm on a weekday so maybe on weekends and when the students are back there are more people around.
Gosh, you’re so good at this. I love them all.
Your photos are amazing!
Thanks guys! :D
