the start of the snow

Snow is fairly rare here. Perhaps once a year for a day or so we might get a light layer. So I was very excited earlier when a delicate thin layer of snow fell as I was cycling home. I stopped to take these pictures and I thought that was the end of that. However now it is about 6 inches deep and more falling all the time, a thick white duvet over everything. The pictures of that will have to follow tomorrow as I am going to go out and enjoy it now…

I like how the light plays with the snow. Must be very exciting to get so much snow when it is rare. Chicago is getting ready for a storm of 6-9 inches, but that’s just a bother for everyone around here :)

i was missing snow all winter, until i got back to Toronto for the holidays…i shoveled my driveway twice today and am feeling quite resigned about more tomorrow! i never tire of watching snow fall though, it’s just so magical. i’ll probably miss it again when i fly back to California next week.

looove the third picture!! It’s nice to see how the snow has been ‘travelling’ south… we still have all our snow up in Manchester (I think the entire region had a day off from work yesterday yay!) :) plenty of snowmen building lol! I have never seen this kind of snowfall here, it’s beautiful! Some pictures on my blog too :) Look forward to seeing yours! Have fun!!
