Camera 1.

Camera 2.

1. Canon 450D with the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens
2. Lomo LC-A with Fuji Superia 400 film
I try not to take pictures of the same things with different cameras but I just so happened to take these a while back with both cameras at my sister’s birthday breakfast before people sat down to eat. I thought the difference was interesting.
I often ask people I know in life questions like “If you could never eat chocolate again or never eat cheese again which would you choose?”, “What do you prefer, sun after the rain or sun after the snow?”, “If you could only wear one colour for the rest of your life what would it be?” etc. I think this is sometimes an annoying habit but I am genuinely interested in what people think of these sorts of things :) Life mostly isn’t “this or that”.
So, in this instance, camera 1 or camera 2? I pick camera 1.

Chocolate; sun after the rain; grey; camera 1. And one of those brioches, please!
Wearing all grey would be pretty. The brioche is yours :)
Cheese; sun after the rain; blue; camera 2 – although camera 1 looks technically better, camera 2 is more evocative, especially if the event was birthday brunch :-)
I agree about the evocative feeling of the second :)
CHEESE! Sun after the rain. probably black since the majority of what i wear is black anyway. Am I allowed colored accessories though? haha.
As for the photos,
camera 2!!! You already knew i would choose that though I’m sure. It just looks warmer.
I wear mostly black too :) I guess maybe if I shot more in RAW on the Canon I could have stronger control of the light colour, maybe try out making things warmer or cooler. I shall give it a go!
i would choose cheese but i’d be so sad for chocolate, i prefer sun after the rain because I love rain as much as the sun, and I would wear black. I love those questions. Have a nice day.
I would be sad for chocolate also :)
What a lovely looking breakfast! Chocolate, sun after the rain, green. Oh, and Camera 1 :)
Green is a nice choice :)
Camera 2. But I want your lens for Canon!
That lens is great, I have also just bought another lens which I can’t wait to debut :)
I guess I pick camera 1. The colours from camera 2 look very warm, a lot of red in the balance? What is making it produce that effect?
LOVELY breakfast! Looks like the sort of big continental breakfast I have (very much enjoyed) in Berlin!
Ah ha, well spotted, you know your German breakfasts when you see one! This was prepared by my mother and step-father – he is German and she is a German professor :)
LOL! I think that qualifies me as some kind of breakfast expert? You’ve inspired me to have a huge German style breakfast this weekend at some point, anyway. Thanks!
It’s interesting how the mood of the subject changes with a switch of the camera. The breakfast looks yummy, btw! I’m not sure which one I’d pick, for this particular setting maybe camera 2 (oh! the warmth! something very southern France about that, in my mind, not that I’ve ever been – yet :P), but possibly camera 1 if that would be the only camera available for ever and ever.
I agree like you say that it would be camera 1 if it was for ever and ever but camera 2 is nice for certain things – luckily in life I can have both :D
Camera 2 for the warm… Camera 1 for the perfection. ^^
it’s so hard to choose, I’m french I cannot live without cheese but how can I abandon chocolate ?!!
The cheese or chocolate question is a tough one I think :)
Very interesting comparison. I would go with camera 1 because it’s so much easier to control and review the outcome. I actually prefer the results of camera 2, though :)
