houses on mushrooms

We passed this barn the other day which was stood on what looked like mushrooms. I’ve done a bit of investigation and apparently they are called ‘staddle stones‘ and are designed to stop vermin climbing into buildings. I wonder if it works? old?

Pretend old :) Just messing about. On the whole I don’t edit my pictures very much in Photoshop, mostly because I take many so I don’t have time, and I am trying to get the pictures themselves up to scratch. But sometimes it is interesting to experiment.
