sakura time

The word ‘sakura’ (meaning cherry blossom) actually makes me think of the people I have known who are called Sakura. According to my parents I was almost called Yukichan (or if I was to be a boy – Martin). However they thought that as I was to grow up in Britain that British kids might change Yuki to yucky so instead I am Alice Mayumi. I am not sure what relevance that has to anything :)

I took these pictures yesterday lunchtime, ‘more is more’ rather than ‘less is more’ with cherry blossom isn’t it.

    Lovely! I love blossom time.

My dad wanted to call my brother Maurice Oxford. And my mother wanted to call me Prudence. Lucky escapes!

It really is just the loveliest stuff. :) Love this time of year.

I was nearly Sian. My mum’s Welsh but my father was Jewish so we had a very Jewish sounding last name which my mother decided wouldn’t go with Sian. I think I prefer Caroline, anyway. I love the name Sakura!

It is strange to think one was almost called something else isn’t it! Caroline is an awesome name :)

Allison & Lorenza – I was glad to find some proper blossom. I think we have more to come here as it is still a bit cold.
