Dudes, I am so rubbish at taking a self portrait! :0 So I resorted to a Photo Booth style picture again as it just snaps the moment and I don’t have to think about it too hard. Beep was not interested so it is me and Ira :) oh and I am wearing an apron because I was also cooking dinner.
So I was thinking that it was about time I updated my About and FAQ area. Does anyone have any questions they would like to ask me? It can be anything. I will address any questions in a week. Either ask it below in the comments or if you want to ask it anonymously then enter it into this Formspring box. I won’t be answering on Formspring but will bring the questions back here to answer in a week if there are any.
I reserve the right to not answer anything mean of course :) Some of you guys I feel I have known for years via here and the old blog, and I can see from the site stats that there is a large silent majority out there, I just wondered if there was anything? Maybe no one has any questions! An experiment.
It’s hard to know sometimes how one is coming across online, I think this space gives a decent idea of day-to-day things although there are some topics I veer away from, such as I don’t really mention music which is a big part of my daily life. I guess that I don’t tend to discuss that on here because I get so much of it in life. I know also I don’t put up pictures of people, mostly that is because it seems a difficult line to tread with this whole privacy issue, so I just steer clear of the whole thing.

I have a question: are you an introvert or an extrovert? And another one: how do you keep track of all these ideas you get? I mean, to make tops and bags, and to take trips and pictures, baking and whatnot… There’s a million things I would like to do, but whenever I have an idea, it’s gone the next minute! And if I do manage to remember them, I can never find the right time or mood to put them to practice. Do you walk around with a notepad? (maybe this sounds silly, but it’s something that often comes to mind when I read your blog.)
Oh, well, I’m in the silent majority, but I really do enjoy your blog and pictures, ever since that day, about a year and a half ago, when I stumbled upon your red orange juice with Lego ice cubes in it :)
Hi Alice,
I too am in the (mostly) silent majority, but I really do enjoy your blog. It helps me to look at the ordinary things in my life with a fresh, happy perspective. And based on some of the projects, food, trips, etc., that you share on your blog, I often find myself at home or somewhere else doing something and I’ll think, “I bet Alice would like this.” What a small world we live in with the Internet.
Here are some questions for you:
» Did you grow up in Oxford?
» Do you and Simon work at the same place, and how did you meet?
» What is your favorite movie?
ooh, you have a cat! i’m a cat man (not cat-man…) and can’t wait for the day i can get my own cat. living in a 50+ story highrise is not cat friendly so it will just have to wait.
mmm, my question for you would be; how did you stumble across my blog?
Alice you’re so pretty! I had no idea!
My question is, what is your favorite part of Japan?
Oh, what a fluffy kitty. :) My question(s) would be photography based. What cameras do you use, what post-processing do you do. That sort of thing.
Alice it’s so nice to ‘see’ you! You are lovely and I like the Photo Boot portrait :)
My question would be, how do you take your DSLR out and about every day? Especially when you cycle?
I am still bit weary to take my camera with me, even though my basket is big it’d jump about with all the potholes!

oh hello you! how nice to see you!! now then…
what’s your favourite song EVER?
(mine’s “rock with you” by mj …or “i feel for you” by chaka… man, narrowing down to one song is hard!!!)
enjoy the weekend – finally some heat :)
Hello,
I think I must be one of your silent majority. I can’t remember how I found your blog, but I loved your photography and look forward to new posts. Question: Do you have a place/space you go to when you want to just relax or hang out?
Hi!
I’m in the silent majority I think. I first stumbled across your blog through Shutter Sisters and found funny to find a blog from Oxford, where I was living at the time (and still very much like). I like your picture, your easy, matter of fact way showing all the things you do, which is inspiring.
Do you have a gig lined up in Oxford soon? As you seem to be part of a band, that would be fun to hear the type of music you do.
Also, what would describe you better? Have you got a favourite possession?

My question is what do you do for a living? You frequently post pictures from your lunch hour or your ride/walk home from work but I don’t remember if you’ve ever mentioned what kind of job you have. Is your photography an extension of a creative work day or is it a response to a non-creative job?
Alice, this is such a lovely idea and a brave thing to do! I have been a reader of your blog(s) for a few years now – which I know you know already ;)
There are two questions that I would like to ask you…
Firstly, as a fellow citizen of the beautiful city of Oxford, I’d like to ask you how long you have lived here? Did you grow up here or when did you move here?
Secondly, what is your favourite book and who is your favourite author? (that’s techically two questions in one!)
Mine is just a nosy one: how old are you? :)
You reserve the right not to answer.
(I wondered what you did for a living too but that has already been asked.)
Love the fluffy red cat!
love the picture! i am also re-doing my about page and starting a formspring page! i will think up a good question for you.
What a cute picture! I love your cats :) Don’t know if I’m too late to ask a question, but if not then I would ask: if you had to choose, which 3 photos you have taken mean the most to you and would you choose to keep out of all the rest, and why?

[...] The questions are taking longer to reply to than I thought, I got lots of good ones!
