I have a backlog of Lomo LC-A pictures that don’t seem to go together in any particular way. Just random things taken here and there over the past few months. So I am going to throw them all together here.
All these places are in Oxford. The above is at The Fir Tree, a useful place to know as it is open until 2am and is a good place to carry on a conversation.
The Rose and Crown, it has a pretty garden out the back with vines.

A cup of tea with a friend.
Sliver Mount Zion at The Regal.
Rainy night streets.
The arms across the table :)
The Kings Arms opened in 1603, it didn’t allow women in until 1973 (!!!!).
John le Carré, an interesting speaker, he was winning a literary award here in the Sheldonian.
Simon eating a burrito :)

The Jericho, upstairs has again become a good venue to see bands.
The best vegetarian burgers.

Library.
Cafe Nour. A very good place to eat.

Sainsbury’s (I said these pictures were random!).

The Ashmolean restaurant for a friend’s birthday meal. Really good food and at night the restaurant has a kind of secret entrance down the side of the museum.

I don’t know much about photography, but one thing I’ve noticed about the lomo shots is that the lighting is very expressive — it almost has a life of its own in each unique photo. I don’t always notice so much “lighting personality” in photos. It’s cool to see!
I know what you mean, it’s interesting how these old cameras handle the different light situations.
what a colorful place!
i know your caption said the photo is random but to be honest, my very favorite photo of all of these is the one of the food baskets!!
I like that one too :D
Burritos in Oxford? That would be worth a trip up right there. I actually think I like the Sainsbury’s photos the best. Magic in a very unexpected place.
There are burritos in a place called the Mission, they opened a second branch recently so there are now too. I am no burrito expert but they are pretty tasty :)
I don’t know how I stumbled upon your blog but I am so thrilled I did – it’s so fab! Oxford through your eyes (and lens) seems even more alluring and compelling than normal.
I love that Sainsbury’s picture, the light and composition of your shots are gorgeous.
Thank you and glad you came by :)
The Saino’s picture is my fave too. :)
Ha, that and the UPS men have been people’s faves of late :)
