I don’t know if anyone remembers from a zillion years ago (ok actually 3 years ago) when I wrote out the tin can tutorial? I thought it worth mentioning that all the cans that I bothered to paint with acrylic back then are still going strong. I think they have weathered up nicely, there is hardly any rust. This year they are being used for nasturtiums.

Thanks for re-sharing this Alice! ~ It prompted me to make my own tin can pot for my windowsill coriander :)
I’ve uploaded a pic of the results of my efforts for you to see here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thischicken/4821399802/
(the paint is a bit streaky, but I think that adds to it’s charm!)
I am so glad it was useful and I really like your version :D
they look really neat! i think i’m going to use old coffee cans in my kitchen garden.
That sounds like a great idea, I wish I had some bigger cans like coffee ones :)
