An old work friend was leaving where we’d both worked previously, he took us and some of the other people who worked there out on his narrow boat for a little evening trip down the river as a celebration. We had a BBQ on his roof and stopped at a fully burning fire that had seemingly been abandoned (trolls?). Then later we went back to his mooring and continued the celebration with some of the other boat dwellers including another friend who happens to live in the next door boat. My experience of boat people is that they know how to party! The musical instruments came out, odd drinks were produced, and it wasn’t until the early hours that we made our excuses knowing we had to travel to Dorset the next day. Good luck, Joe!
