Minimal huh :) When I get home from work I go out to the garden to see if there is anything I want to pick. This is all I fancied today. The flower is Chocolate Cosmos which I am growing this year for the first time. Apparently it is a perennial, I had thought until I found this variety that all Cosmos where annuals. Cosmos reminds me the most of being in the countryside in Japan in the summertime.
This tablecloth this week is an old Irish linen one that I got on ebay a while back, I think it is from the 1950s. I have ironed it but as it has been stored for 50 years folded up it may take a few washes to get the creases out.

Yeah so the other culinary news around our house yesterday was that the first strawberries ripened. I mean there have only been two so far but we were still pretty excited :) We had one each.

A dramatic five minute thunder and lightning storm left all this. Strange. About half an hour before it had been hot and sunny and I had been watering my tomato plants :)

It is my first year with a fig tree. I bought it because I like the big leaves that are like hands but now it is fruiting which is pretty exciting :)
