I woke up with this idea for a drawing on my mind

Bookletters
At the Library.

I did this while drinking Mugicha and listening to the Josephine Hart Poetry Hour on the radio. So glad it is Mugicha season again, the taste brings back so many summer memories.

The Weather Report

Happymonday

We have been having The Big Storm here. I kept waking in the night because I was expecting a CRASH BANG as something would get blown over or get smashed. But it was all ok.

British people like to talk about the weather. Actual dramatic weather is so rare here in Oxfordshire. Today I stood and watched the huge clouds roaring overhead off to make trouble someplace else. It is a valley of mild winters and warm summers. This winter we have had no snow. Having traveled and lived in other countries I appreciate how safe the weather is in ‘the shire’. I hope that everyone else is as safe tonight.

Owls Camping

Owlscamping

(in the summer we will go camping)

Heh! Yes I have been keeping up with my new year’s drawing-every-day resolution. I was thinking about summer and camping and then my mind drifted on to the idea of owls camping! I am wondering about making this into a gocco print?

ol’ rockin chair + shed fan sites

Rockinchair
I haven’t forgotten about my drawing resolution. At the moment I am trying to think up something really nice for the gocco swap. Perhaps something involving the above chair? The chair was a gift from my sister and I to my mother when she got re-married.

Things are pottering along on flickr too. Hey! actually there is something pretty hilarious that has come out of my recent activity; I have been asked to join a shed group here and here. Ha! Isn’t that cool! There really is a group for everything isn’t there.

Blackbird

Today on my way home just as it was getting really dark I heard a sound that made me feel very spring. I wasn’t sure what it was until I checked, now I know it was a Blackbird. It was just like this (apart from the man talking ;). And if you believe Wikipedia it was a young male Blackbird as they sometimes start singing as early as January. Isn’t it unfortunate that the Latin name for a Blackbird is Turdus merula, ha!
