I don’t know if anyone remembers from a zillion years ago (ok actually 3 years ago) when I wrote out the tin can tutorial? I thought it worth mentioning that all the cans that I bothered to paint with acrylic back then are still going strong. I think they have weathered up nicely, there is hardly any rust. This year they are being used for nasturtiums.

Before – After

Much better. The wood was not that nice so I gave it two coats of red gloss spray paint. I think it originally came from the Japan Centre. I am trying to keep my eye out for things that I already own that could be improved in some way (cushions, I am looking at you).

I’ve cut out these fish and backed them with blue paper and now I can’t decide what to do with them :) There are almost too many possibilities. I thought I had some very thin magnetic tape to make them into fridge magnets but I can’t find it. Perhaps I could add threads and make odd decorations for some kind of occasion? A mobile? Or cards? Decoupage? Hmm…

PS. Do you remember my pinecone necklace and how I was saying it is the kind of thing I would go mad over on Etsy? Well look at this – I was so surprised as I HAVE found a similar one on Etsy! Goes to show that necklaces haven’t changed all that much in all the years. I wonder if mine was made in the same way and if there is a real pinecone underneath.

I made the pompom garland project from here by Anna of Rifle. Not for any real reason apart from that sometimes it is just nice to make stuff, you know? It only took a few minutes. Also I think sometimes with these craft things it is a good idea to make the project as soon as you see it as otherwise you end up bookmarking loads of ideas but never actually get around to it. Well, that would happen to me. I have to strike while the iron is hot.
