There was one cloudy day, still warm but gloomy.

This is ‘The Glen’, it’s a chasm in Knocknarea mountain with high rock walls and shaded by trees. It’s quite hard to find, we had exact directions from our aunt but even then we weren’t quite sure we were going down the right path until finally we reached the end. We had tried to go here the previous year but had had to turn back as the narrow path gets very marshy. It’s a cool green place with birds flying around, and like with most of the places we visited in Sligo we were the only ones there during our visit.

Like my flower arrangement? I picked it from things growing around the cottage. We love the cottage, and it’s so nice to have a wood burning stove in the evenings, definitely something I’d like in my own house.

I’m back! This is where I was :) We had such amazing hot sunny weather, last time I was in Ireland it was later in the year and colder, this time we were completely baked. I went with Simon and my sister to stay in a lovely little stone cottage that belongs to my aunts. The pictures of the bags I put in because it seemed to me that they show how my sister and I have a similar taste in bags (although mine has to be 5x the size because of the camera of course). I have so many pictures I want to show of Sligo, it‚Äôs such a beautiful place. There will be quite a few more posts coming up on it. My mother is Irish so I have spent a lot of time in Ireland, I really recommend it as a relaxing place to visit if you like the countryside as you can see such beautiful scenery and ancient places.

We discovered that Sligo has absolutely loads of beautiful clean empty beaches and coves. Really dramatic sandy shores with not another person in sight. We went to the beach every day and really got the cobwebs blown out of our heads.
I can’t wait to go back!
