I’ve had a whirlwind few weeks starting a new job and now… I’m off to Japan! I won’t update while I’m gone so won’t be posting for a few weeks. The house renovations are still in progress but we had a good deadline of getting some things ready for the people who are staying here while we are away.

These are pictures from a lunchbreak at the botanic gardens a few days ago.

weather

The snow is back again here. It is still a rare enough experience that it is still exciting, and the transformation of the brown winter landscape to white is beautiful. These pictures are from around where we live (Oxford) rather than out in the countryside (the Cotswolds) where I work. The snow is usually less in the city, I guess because it is warmer, lower ground?

birthdays

The other thing that I am behind on posting is pictures from mine and Simon’s birthdays. Both our birthdays are just before Christmas. Pictured here are visits to MAO, Ashmolean restaurant and Threads of Silk and Gold exhibition, cake made by my sister, birthday breakfast at home, and a meal at The Magdalen Arms. It is becoming traditional to go to The Magdalen Arms on my birthday! Previous visits here, here, and here.
